Vacation Bible School program...
We want all the families in our children’s ministry to experience VBS with us. This includes our families with both parents actively obligated during the day. So we are experimenting with a new concept this year: a discipleship-focused VBS during 3 Midweek services in May with an off-site outreach VBS on August 8, 9, and 10. Families can learn the stories and songs alongside each other, then have an opportunity to serve together, grandparents with kids with parents with other members, side by side! It’s sometimes difficult to find mission opportunities that span all age groups but here is a great way for the whole family to be involved with the whole church!

Who can attend?
VBS at FBC is open to any child who is currently 4 years old through sixth grade.
Is that my child’s current grade?
Yes, it is the grade your child is finishing up this school year.
Where will VBS meet?
For these 3 Wednesdays in May, our kids will still meet at the church!
Preschool children will be in their regular area on the Preschool floor of the LIFE building.
Elementary ages will check-in at the Atrium then go to the Skybox in groups for opening ceremonies. They will then rotate to stations for Bible Study, Missions, and Games with their group leader.
How can I serve?
There are lots of places to get plugged in at VBS! Here are some places we have open*:

*All volunteers working with children are required to have a background check & interview with the children’s pastor, if not previously completed.

Is this really VBS?
Well, it depends on your definition of vacation bible school...
Is this a week of programming for 3-4 hours each day? - No
Will it be held on consecutive days? - No
Will there be orange drink and butter cookies? - No
Will the church be taken over by a theme for a week? - No
Will there be a bunch of kids learning about Christ’s love with a cool theme and environment? - YES
Will there be adults having fun and investing in the lives of the next generation of believers? - YES
Will the kids be engaging the Gospel and learning how to reflect the love of Christ to their sphere of influence? - YES
What will the August event be like?
On August 8, 9, and 10, we will meet at CWL Park on Cherry Street, just a few blocks away from the church. We will host an outreach version of the same VBS material that our kids covered in May. Same music, same stories, same fun! We will partner with other churches and organizations already ministering to the downtown community, giving them the opportunity to join the fun with their kids instead of always organizing and running the activities. It will be 2 evenings of bible stories, games, and music with a closing party in the park on Saturday morning! Mark your calendars and come serve with us as we show Christ’s love to the West End neighborhood and those serving this area throughout the year!
